Full Text Magazine Databases

Proquest is an online research database containing articles (many in full text) from over 5000 magazines, journals and newspapers worldwide. Proquest covers a broad range of subjects and includes the following databases: Proquest Research Library, ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, Hoover's Company Records, and National Newspaper Abstracts.

WilsonWeb Art Full-Text is an online database containing articles on the following subjects: advertising art, antiques, archaeology, architecture and architectural history, art history, computers in art, crafts, decorative arts, fashion design, folk art, graphic arts, industrial design, interior design, landscape architecture, motion pictures, museology, non-western art, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, television, textiles, and video. It includes approximately 500 magazines and journals worldwide with expanded coverage of Latin American, Canadian, Asian and other non-Western art, new artists, contemporary art, exhibition reviews, and feminist criticism.

Oxford Art Online is an online encyclopedia of world art and art history, spanning from prehistoric to modern art. It contains artist biographies, information about art movements, timelines of world art, definitions of art terms, and links to image collections. Oxford Art Online includes the following resources: Grove Art Online, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms.
 

Art and Design Magazine Indexes

Design and Applied Arts Index contains citations for articles from design and craft journals – you can use these citations to find articles in the library’s current and back issue magazine shelves. It covers topics such as computer arts, graphic design, interior design, product design, and environmental design.
 

Fashion Subscription Databases

WWD covers daily news on fashion and textiles. It has news on trends and developments in the industry of fashion, beauty, textiles, and accessories, including business and finance and job listings.

Redbooks covers information on advertisers and advertising agencies, including client lists, advertising budgets, and brands owned by parent companies.
 
Adforum.com contains print, web, and film ads that you can view online. Many business sectors are represented such as automotive, health, and fashion.

IMDb Pro (Internet Movie Database) IMDb is an online database of information related to movies, actors, television shows, production crew personnel and more. IMDB is a freely accessible database. The library can provide you with access to IMDbPro, which contains additional information including showbiz contacts, films currently in production, actor and movie rankings and industry news.

Avery can also help you search for articles in the magazines on the library’s shelves. It provides article citations for journals on architecture and design including city planning, interior design, and landscape architecture.
 

Business & Company Information

Hoover’s Online contains information on international and domestic companies such as personnel, budgets, products, operations, and competitors. The user interface is the same as Proquest. You can print results pages and change the interface language for searching.
 

Materials Subscription Database

The online materials database allows you to discover the latest and most exciting materials originating from a large spectrum of industries—typically unnoticed or difficult to reach by the design community. All the materials are juried into the database by a panel of material specialists and knowledgeable professionals.
 

Faculty Development

Journal on Excellece of College Teaching is a peer-reviewed journal published at Miami University by and for faculty at universities and two- and four-year colleges to increase student learning through effective teaching, interest in and enthusiasm for the profession of teaching, and communication among faculty about their classroom experiences.
