Much Ado about Screenplays

Hi everyone,

There is a new location in Millennium and the OPAC for our screenplays collection called - wait for it - Screenplays!  The loan rules are still the same as Circulating. 

In other screenplay-related news: Over the next few weeks, Gayle and I will be implementing a new call number system for this collection.  The one we inherited was just not made for the long-term, so we are taking the plunge and replacing it with what will hopefully prove to be a more user-friendly classification system.

If you have any questions please let me know, and a big thank you to Holly for getting the new location up and running so quickly!



If the color printer stops responding…

Yesterday and today, the color printer has had a few instances where it’s simply stopped responding - people print to the correct printer, the reader takes their money, and … nothing. It does nothing. When this happens, it seems to be enough to simply restart the printer. Tell people at the Print Release Station to hold off on sending any new jobs, and tell the people who have already sent jobs to the printer to go back to their computers and resend them. (We should, of course, pay for these re-do print jobs.) Hold down the power button on the printer (like you would to shut it down at night), but instead of selecting the “Shut Down” option, select the “Restart” button. Once the printer has restarted, which takes a few minutes, it should work. If you have any questions, please ask Ian or me! Thanks,

New Copy Card Machine is up and running

I programmed the new copy card machine this morning and it is the one that is in place now. It should be taking the new $5.00 bills so please encourage students to use the new $5.00s rather than exchange them so we can ensure this function is working. The credit card functionality is not set up yet but it is scheduled to be done the week after the semester ends so it should be up and running by the Summer semester.


Reminder: Turn the projector off at night

Circ staffers, please remember to take a moment during the closing process to check that the projector in the Theater Room is turned off. If the projector is left on overnight, its very expensive bulb will burn out faster. Thanks!
