TER collection - new sticker color

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Hi everyone,

Due to ongoing confusion between the orange stickers we use for the TCP collection (Teacher’s Copy, located in Audrey’s office and reserved for ESL teachers only) and the “neon red” stickers used for the TER collection (Art Education, located next to Room 673, Hope and Holly’s office), we’ve changed the stickers for TER to a much less similar color - purple!

Right now there are only two books from this collection that are unaccounted for. Both are marked missing, and if they turn up, please bring them to the TS office so that we can resticker them.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

More Website Changes

Monday, August 15th, 2011

Hi,

I have changed the dropdown in the library website menu.  It used to be Find Resources -> Online Articles & Reference, this has been changed to Online Articles, Books & Music.  The page itself, has been renamed Online Resources.  I have also added a new dropdown item - Online Software Tutorials - this link also takes you to the Online Resources page but jumps down to the link for Digital Tutors.

I made these changes because we have added a lot new resources to this page, that no longer fall under articles and reference resources.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Lost book replacement procedures

Monday, August 8th, 2011

If you have not yet encountered a patron who would like to replace a lost book, you will most likely encounter this soon!  When this happens please go over the procedure with the patron.  There is a handy sheet detailing this process in the tower between the circulation computers and the Reference desk designed to help you with this. (In fact, many noteworthy forms and information sheets live here — if you haven’t explored this spot — be sure to do so before you leave for break.)

Please verbally go over the process and hand the student the sheet, as well as write down the ISBN number on the sheet.  This number can be found in the item record of the OPAC.
When the student comes in with the replacement books, please do call me at this point, and I will handle the second part of the interaction.
If you have any questions, please let me know!

New Online Articles Page and New Online Resource - Music Library

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Hi Everyone,

The Online Articles and Reference page has been updated.  There’s a new layout (it now looks more like the new Digital Images page) and I’ve also added a link to the new Music Library we have acquired.  The Music Library is hosted by CyberCampus, so students, faculty and staff will have to log into this resource using their Academy of Art username and password.  You should all have usernames and passwords (it’s the same as logging into Peoplesoft).  Please let me know if you have any questions or if you can’t log in.

This may be a little confusing because students don’t use their Academy username and password for any of the other online resources - so if you have a student who is having trouble logging in, just make sure you know which resource they are trying to use.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Library Website Problems Fixed

Monday, August 1st, 2011

It seems like the library website is accessible to the outside world again.  If any students or faculty complain about not being to access the library website, or if they are unable to access online resources, please let Holly know.

Thanks!
