Website Updates

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

The updates have been made to the website - the new search box on the home page and the updated images throughout the rest of the website. If you find a page that doesn’t look like it has been updated, please hit the refresh button in your browser. If it still doesn’t look like it has been updated, please let me know - I may have missed a page as I was moving them over.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks!

Inventory to commence!

Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

Hi all, We are starting inventory of the Reference Collection. The Circulation Assistants are going to be doing inventory and Anders is going to be training Circulation staff on inventory during your job hours over the next few weeks. A few things to note: the iPad and cordless scanner that you will be using to do inventory is now housed in the bottom drawer of the white cabinet where the cash drawer for the circ desk is kept. I moved it about 2 feet to the left so that it is right next to an outlet where the chargers for the iPad and scanner are plugged in. Please keep these items charged between use; however, please MAKE SURE and lock them up at night when you put away the cash! If you see them out and charging when you are putting away the cash put them in the bottom drawer for safe keeping.

If you have questions or comments email me or leave comments here and I will respond.

Thanks,

Debra

Changes to Library Website

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

We are going to be making some changes to the homepage of the website this summer.

I am planning on rolling out these changes on Monday, July 16. You can preview these changes here.

New Homepage:
http://library.academyart.edu:2082/screens/mainmenuSEARCH5.html

You should see that the image at the top has changed, and the Search Box is now in the middle. There are two additional search boxes for searching ProQuest and EBSCO as well.

The main menu items have been extended, so now all of the main pages for each section should be in the menus.

You can see the changes on an internal page here (with the new image):
http://elmo.academyart.edu/reference-help/subject-guides/new/actingTest.php

All of the internal pages will look like this (with the new image and the red search box). The main menu items will also be updated like they are on the homepage, but I have not added them to this example page.

If you have any questions or suggestion, please let me know!
