I’ve spoken with several library assistants recently about what should happen when a patron who has booked one of our rooms is late and another patron is inquiring about using the space. We came to the conclusion that allowing the original booker 30 minutes to get to the library (unless they’ve called and let us know they will be late) is the best amount of time before forfeiting to the next person asking. When folks make these reservations, please let them know about. Something like, “The library will cancel your reservation if we have not heard from you within 30 minutes of your start time” is sufficient. This will be reflected on the website too.
